About Counselling at Your Space Counselling & Psychotherapy

What is counselling and psychotherapy?

Counselling and psychotherapy provides a safe, confidential and ethical space in which you can explore and talk freely/openly about issues, concerns or difficulties you are experiencing in your life with a fully trained and qualified counsellor.

There is no right or wrong. no judgements. no pressure. no expectations.

The counsellor is there to listen.

The counsellor is there to support you in exploring what is important and impacting your life; thoughts, feelings and behaviours (past or present) within a comfortable environment.

Here, you may start to better understand yourself or others, begin to find your own solutions, come to further clarity, make changes, or find alternative coping mechanisms.

Within this, the counsellor is not there to fix, give opinions, advice, or medications. They are there to help you discover your own answers because you are the expert in your life.

How do I work as a counsellor and psychotherapist?

Ultimately you are always at the centre and heart of how I work.

Where I am able to adapt to your needs and wishes from counselling. Being able to pull and integrate different aspects of my training in order to best effectively work collaboratively with you in that very moment. We are all individual and unique. Thus each person will require and need different approaches from me within the space.

The counselling space is 'Your Space'.

Modalities I integrate are Person-Centered, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, CBT, Solution Focused, Mindfulness and Attachment Theory.

I also work pro-actively and integrate creative approaches at times for those who prefer to express themselves and work in this way.

Who do I work with?

I strive to be open and welcome everyone into the space. I want to be able to offer my expertise and counselling to everyone. Everyone deserves the space to be held and heard, especially in distressing times. This is why I try my best to accommodate various counselling options to suit (see below).
